For the past three years, the library has offered free ballet classes from our favorite, local ballerina, Ms Constance Keremes (Youth Librarian). These ballet classes enable youngsters the opportunity to sample an art form that is centuries old and that develops musicality, coordination, grace, flexibility, fitness and an appreciation for the arts.
Many children who have taken these classes have been inspired to continue their studies at professional studios. Nutcracker Sweets, a December holiday season performance features dance students of the Patrick Heath Public Library ballet classes, dancers from Dance Dominion, gymnasts from Boerne Gymnastics, and a choir from BISD elementary schools. This annual performance, presented at the Boerne Community Center, is orchestrated at no cost to the families and draws together our community, bringing various organizations together that are dedicated to serving young people.
What We Hear
We are so greartful that the Foundation supports the ballet program at the library. Our daughters wouldn't be able to take ballet if it wasn't for the free instruction.

Support the Nutcracker Ballet
The Boerne Public Library Foundation is honored to sponsor this event. This program offers our librarians an opportunity to reach out to children in non-traditional ways. Children enjoying living stories as much as they enjoy reading them. We welcome all support for this program and greatly appreciate your donations towards this effort. |
