stock-illustration-17317873-paw-signPAWS for Reading is a program that allows children to read aloud to a therapy dog in order to improve reading and communication skills. Children read individually to trained therapy pets in the Children’s Section of the library. These dogs present a non-judgmental outlet for children to gain self confidence in many areas, not just reading.

This program is growing and the library is now accepting "walk-ins" two Saturdays each month.  We are excited to be able to provide funding for this program; just one of the library's many successful programs  - available to all - free of charge.

What We Hear

My son has gained confidence in his reading. I think it's just a matter of time before he asks for a dog.
