We are grateful to benefactors such as Jefferson Bank, which has committed $25,000 to the Boerne Public Library Foundation’s Turning A New Page capital campaign. The dollars will be used for the enhancement and construction of the library’s information desk and reference area.
According to DeVan Watts, market president for Jefferson Bank in Boerne, the bank was interested in helping the community construct the library that will serve as a beacon of education and an integral part of downtown Boerne’s future for generations to come.
“Libraries continue to serve as educational anchors for communities, and are important to so many residents as a place for research, quiet study, cultural enrichment and intellectual discussion,” said Watts. “As our society becomes increasingly information-overloaded, libraries serve as a conduit for that information and are the go-to places when you need assistance in filtering through volumes of information. We wanted to recognize that crucial library function.”
