60th Birthday Bash! Come Celebrate our History and our Future! In 1952, Boerne opened its first library, manned by volunteers. Fast forward 60 Years and it is quite amazing to see how far our little library has come. Our Sound Minds Sound Bodies initiative was born out of the desire to provide our community with enrichment from many different aspects. Research shows that libraries that have playgrounds increase their patrons as well as patron satisfaction. The grounds of the Patrick Heath Public Library are serving as an educational experience with the informative panels which describe the ground water issues and conservation efforts we are using, the native plants and the railways of yesterday.
We know that children have a greater capacity to learn if their minds and bodies are exercised regularly. We are currently working on grants to help bring a playground to our library campus. This playground will help to attract members of our community to the library that wouldn't otherwise come and to provide an outlet for children to get their "wiggles" out and prepare their minds for learning.
Help Support the Children's Play AreaSupport for the Children's Play Area can be in the form of underwriting, donations of materials and equipment, or funds that can go towards general donations to be used for the completion of this project. |

As the size of our library grows so does the need for additional equipment and programming. The patronage of the Patrick Heath Public Library has grown exponentially as our community discovers the treasure that we have been given. The Boerne Public Library Foundation is committed to a continued partnership with our Library by bringing equipment and programming needs to our community.
