What is the Boerne Library Foundation?
The Boerne Public Library Foundation is one of the fund raising arms of the Patrick Heath Public Library. We support programs and on-going capital needs of the library and work to provide literacy services in the Boerne community.
Can the Foundation receive bequests or trust incomes?
Yes. Please see our information on Ways to Give.
Does the Foundation accept donations of books and magazines?
No. All donations of books and magazines can be made to the Friends of the Boerne Library.
Who are the Friends of the Library?
The Friends of the library and the Library Foundation are two separate groups but both support the Patrick Heath Public Library. The Friends of the library collect donated books and sell these books to raise money for certain library projects. The Friends have just opened their own building right next to the library and will hold book sales there. The Foundation has an office within the library. We are focused on providing support to the library through programming and capital funding needs. We also have our own programs that we run within the library. Our community is fortunate to benefit from the efforts of both groups.
As the size of our library grows so does the need for additional equipment and programming. The patronage of the Patrick Heath Public Library has grown exponentially as our community discovers the treasure that we have been given. The Boerne Public Library Foundation is committed to a continued partnership with our Library by bringing equipment and programming needs to our community.
Our Sound Minds Sound Bodies initiative was born out of the desire to provide our community with enrichment from many different aspects. Research shows that libraries that have playgrounds increase their patrons as well as patron satisfaction. The grounds of the Patrick Heath Public Library are serving as an educational experience with the informative panels which describe the ground water issues and conservation efforts we are using, the native plants and the railways of yesterday.
This year year marks the 60th Birthday of the Boerne library and there are many ways we intend to celebrate. With the growth and increased interest in our library, we need your help to support library programs, capital needs and community projects that impact us all. Please help us make 2012 our best year yet.
